British band Blue was in Jakarta on 23 rd September 2004 to give a long awaited concert at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno indoor venue.
Openers were Derek McDonald and a local crooner Delon, a very talented finalist of the Indonesian Idol 2004 contest.
The Blue concert displayed a great backup live band and a well oiled entertainment machine complete with dancers.
The entire sound system consisted of emPad multi application products.
The system was configured by Sony Soebowo and system engineer Eric.
The FOH consisted of 10 pcs emPad CC35 flown per side. A total of 12 pcs B315 Low Frequency cabinets were ground stacked in SL, Centre and SR positions. 4 pcs B7 made up a nice little front fill for the die hard fans hugging the crowd control barriers.
The monitor system consisted of 12 pcs MS 69 floor monitors, 1 pc CC30 drum fill, 4 pcs CC35 flown per side as side fills and 2 pcs MS8 coaxial multi purpose "mini-me" minitors.
A total of 11 amp racks with 3 emPad DXA 2400 amplifiers each and one ESP224 controller per rack were used to power the system.
2 pcs XTA Dp 226 were on duty for zone control.
While SPL’s of 122 dB C-weighted were measured at FOH during soundcheck without any of the amps clipping, Blue FOH engineer Mark limited the max SPL levels to 118 db during the show itself.
Monitor engineer John was in control of the extensive monitor system as well as a number of in ear monitor systems.
Both John and Mark expressed satisfaction with the performance of the emPad systems.
The event was televised nation wide by metro TV.
We wish Java Musikindo promotions repeated success with future concert promotions at Istora indoor with Istora Senayan Productions as the Event productions supplier.
