On Sunday May 23, 2004, emPad CC35 cabinets provided the foundation for the burst of color and culture at the opening ceremony and show of Citrawarna 2004 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
More than 5,500 participants, dressed in colourful costumes of their respective ethnic and state origins, entertained the crowd after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail officially opened the event.
More than 60,000 spectators gathered at the stadium to take part in the event themed Waves and Colors, which showcased dances and songs by local artistes.
Also present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, his wife Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, and other Cabinet ministers.
Over 30 television stations and seven radio stations from all over the world recorded the event for broadcast in their respective countries. Some of the countries represented were Brazil, Thailand, Germany, Bangladesh, Britain, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The sound system was designed by our emPad production support team with the help of the Sound Dimension and KRSS engineers as well as co-ordination and on site support from emPad agent for Malaysia, Mr Steven Foong.
24 pcs CC35 were deployed in 12 stacks of 2 cabinets each. An extra 2 stacks of each 2 pcs B215 and 2 pcs B7 complemented the 1st and 2nd tier grandstand's soundsystem. Additionaly 12 pcs B7 were hung from the roof to fully cover the 3rd tier with a detailed emPad sound. All amplifers were emPad DXA 2400, system processors were 8 pcs ESP224 and 1 pcs XTA DP224.
A healthy 108 dB C weighted was measured during the show on the 2nd tier. No extra low cabinets were necessary anywhere in the system.
The client was very happy with the system's clarity and power, the system owners were very happy with the prospects of repeat business in the stadium show market and we here at emPad are happy that our products have proven to be effortlessly capable of handling every application from small ballrooms to the biggest sports stadiums with the CC35 cabinet as backbone.
